From Petrol to Plug: Why Indian Youth Are Going Electric

Why young Indians are choosing electric scooters?

The young generation of India also know as the Gen-Z is preferring electric scooters and vehicles over fuel powered vehicles. This is due to price of petrol and diesel increasing day by day and yet income remains almost the same.

What is the reason for this shift?

The price of petrol today is ₹102.92 per liter and diesel is ₹90.99 per liter. Electric vehicles just need to be charged at home and they are good to go for at least 100+ KM. Additionally the Indian Government is offering subsidies and tax benefits on EV purchases.

Think about this

No exhaust = No air pollution

We can reduce India's carbon footprint by opting for electric vehicles.

My Takeaway

Electric vehicles have a lot to offer and with the support of the Indian government it is looks more likely of a suitable option for an average Indian man in this economy. However, many people have different choices when it comes to cars and I personally prefer fuel powered cars to drive.
